City workers prepare Cumberland’s Christmas tree Monday on Historic City Center. The tree, a 20-foot Concolor fir, was donated by Tom and Carolyn Mathews, owners of the former Intown Tree Farm. The tree was planted in 2005 by Allegany High School environmental science students, including the Mathews’ daughters, Melanie and Becky. The city’s annual tree lighting ceremony will be held Nov. 29 with entertainment beginning at 5 p.m
